Text: "Web 101 Making the 'Net Work for You" (second edition) by Wendy Lehnert. Also a book of your choice on HTML.

Course Topics (roughly in order they are introduced):

Introduction to HTML
Basic HTML tags: links, images, tables, lists.
Advanced HTML: forms, stylesheets.
Advanced HTML: CGI, Scripts, Applets.
Internet bascis - structure of the internet
Internet communication, email, transactions.
Internet security: viruses, worms, Trojan Horses.
Internet security: hoaxes and scams.

Grading Policies:

There are 500 points available in the course.

A: 450 - 500 points.
B: 400 - 449 points.
C: 350 - 399 points.
D: 300 - 349 points.
F: Below 300 points.

Points are available as follows:

Test 1: 100 points.
Test 2: 100 points.
Final Exam: 150 points.
Assignments: 70 points.
Course Project: 80 points

Test Policies:

All tests are in class, open book, open notes, and multiple choice.
Make-up tests are possible if tests are missed, but format and content may vary from in-class tests.
The final is comprehensive.
Make up tests will not be given for the final exam.
