Hi, my name is
Chris Cochran and I am a second year Cadet (an MSII) in
the Army R.O.T.C. program at the University of Central Florida (UCF).
I took my first year of ROTC four years ago when Lt. Colonel Hampton was
the Battalion Commander. I thoroughly enjoyed my first year (MSI) as a
cadet and I had planned on making a career out of the Army. But as you
and I both know, things in life don't always turn out the way we plan.
I ended up getting a promotion at work and I decided to take it. I
figured that I could have a promising career in the Airline Industry and
travel the World. Well, at least I got to travel a lot. Who knew that
my promising career in the Airline Industry would only last four years.
Everything was going great until the attacks on the World Trade Center
changed my life. Two weeks after the attack I was laid off from work.
I packed everything I owned and moved back to Florida. Yep, that meant
moving back home. It wasn't the easiest thing to do, but I knew that it
was the right thing to do. Once I got settled back at home, I decided to
pick up where I left off with school and ROTC. That's where I'm at now.
My second year of ROTC. Of course, everybody is new in the course.
New cadets and new cadre. The only person still there that I knew was
Mrs. Betty. I'm glad she's still there. She held the Battalion together
when I was there the last time and I know she is probably holding this
Battalion together as well.
I bet you're wondering why I have created this web site. Simply put, I created it as a means to communicate with and inform the other cadets. I had a similar web site during my first year as an MSI. In it I informed the cadets about each lab we had by writing a brief synopsis every week. This helped so people could refer back to the information learned, or read about what they might have missed that week. I also posted pictures of the stuff that we did throughout our training. Everyone seemed to like it. So I decided to do the same thing this year. I have a lot of pictures posted on this site from my MSI year. As time goes on, I will post pictures of my MSII year and then eventually my MSIII and MSIV years as well.
Well, that's me in a nut shell. If you want to know more, just come up
and ask me or email me at:

Also, if you have any comments (good or bad) please share them with me.
Oh by the way, if you were wondering about the above picture, that's me
about 3-4 years ago when I worked for Midway Airlines. I was sent out to
American Airlines facility in Tulsa, OK to oversee the materials side of
a heavy maintenance check for one of our airplanes. I am standing in
front of a field of about 30-40 MD-10 tail engines that cost about
$8,000,000 a piece. Anyone for Pod racing?
