Hey everyone,


I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas break. Here is more information I am passing along to you guys concerning our next RECONDO event which is Orienteering at Kelly Park- 01Feb03:

  1. Transportation: We will travel to Kelly Park by car pool. If you would like to volunteer to drive, please send me an email. I will have all the directions and maps to hand out to those who volunteer.
  2. Water/Food: Everyone will bring 1 canteen attached to a web belt. ( No camel paks since not everyone has one). We will check out a 5 gal jug from BN to bring also. We will pool money from everyone to purchase subs.
  3. Time: All Cdts need to be at the ROTC trailers NLT 0730 for accountability. We will depart from UCF at 0800 hrs. I plan on arriving at Kelly park around 0900. The official orienteering event runs from 1000-1300hrs. This will give us some time to go over a few things about orienteering/wildlife and getting signed up for the event.
  4. Cost: This event won.t nearly be as much as the last paint ball event. $15 will be more than enough to cover everything. It is $2 per person to enter the park. 5$ for a map-divide that by 4 people in a group and your looking at $1.25. The Ms III cadets will bring their compasses for everyone to use. Food/Drinks will run about $5-6. Add that all up and it's only $9.25. So $15 is plenty to cover everything.
  5. Uniform: Uniform will be civilian attire with boots(the ones issued to you from BN)
  6. Orienteering class and teams: I will do a brief class on orienteering/wildlife at the park before we sign up. I want all Cdts planning on participating in this event to contact me by email/phone # NLT than 20Jan03. Once I get all the names together, I.ll make up teams and email them out to everyone. Every team will have at least one MS III in it to help guide along the BC Cdts.
